Position Summary


The Revenue Accountant will be significantly involved in the fulfillment of various revenue functions in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Areas of focus include reviewing client agreements, contract billing, revenue validation, account reconciliation, and process and documentation improvements.  Additionally, the Revenue Accountant should maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of accounting policies, financial systems, transaction processes and internal controls.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare client invoices in accordance with sales contract terms and conditions
  • Ensure compliance with all new client-required documentation and other deliverables in order to invoice client and/or access client’s invoicing portal in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with the renewal sales organization and other personnel to ensure renewal invoices are processed timely and with minimum variance to plan
  • Responsible for preparing renewal sales checklist for active clients to ensure each billing is authorized, reviewed, and validated for compliance with company policies and controls
  • Assist with the review and documentation of key components of customer contracts to ensure compliance with the Company’s revenue recognition policy
  • Support month end close processes including recording of revenue and AR journal entries and reconciliations
  • Perform BESP and other fair value analyses based on fees charged on client sales contracts
  • Monitor delivery of products and services for revenue recognition and royalty reporting purposes
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining master client files in ERP system
  • Participate in quarterly reviews and annual audit
  • Perform special projects, ad hoc analyses, and other recurring tasks as required



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA preferred or in process


  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in private industry and strong base knowledge in the practice and application of US GAAP
  • Hands on experience with contract billings, foreign currency transactions, and revenue recognition
  • Experience with public company standards (Sarbanes Oxley, SEC, etc.) a plus
  • Experience working with large general ledger (ERP) systems (Microsoft AX experience preferable), Excel, CRM, and business intelligence tools

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be highly detail oriented and organized, with ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high paced working environment
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-growing environment where change is the norm, strong multi-tasking skills, and flexibility to switch from one project to the next quickly
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and business partnering skills with demonstrated ability to work cross functionally and at various levels within a company.
  • Demonstrable understanding of multi-relational impact of the Balance Sheet, P&L, and Cash Flow Statement and how journal entries affect each statement
