Position Summary


The role of the Sr. Support Engineer – Oracle APPs DBA to provide exceptional remote-based support for mission-critical Oracle EBS applications as part of our global customer support team. The position has the responsibility for researching, troubleshooting issues and support of architectural & performance related improvements for Oracle eBusiness Suite R11, R12 and related Oracle Technology Stack deployed on variety of platforms.  The role of the Sr. Support Engineer – Oracle APPs DBA requires the expertise and skills to debug, correctly diagnose & resolve serious issues for complex, integrated Oracle eBusiness environment in a timely manner. Many of these environments will be configured for high availability, or high volume mission critical applications. 


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Solve complex customer issues using methodical troubleshooting based on expert knowledge of Oracle EBS applications functionality and technology
  • Work closely with customers on a daily basis to understand their needs, support business change and deliver a consistently high quality customer experience
  • Manage one or more key assigned accounts as a technical advisor
  • Be a pro-active contributor to a support organization which is running 24x7x365, this will require the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays and monitoring email regularly outside standard business hours
  • Provide hands-on assistance using proprietary tools in a test environment or via remote client connectivity
  • Collaborate with team members in a virtual team environment to extend field experience to different client situations
  • Contribute to the development and management of knowledge-sharing methodologies, diagnostic tools, and creative processes, to improve the client experience


Minimal Qualifications



  •  Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience


  • 10+ years relevant Oracle Apps DBA experience- EBS
  • 5+ years direct support of Oracle application end-users in a Corporate environment
  • Expertise in Implementation , Upgrade, Patching, Maintaining and configuring the eBusiness Suite environment
  • Deep knowledge of underlying Oracle Technology Stack including Java, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, BI Publisher and Workflow
  • Hands-on operational expertise as an Oracle Apps DBA, with technology including RAC, SSO, Dataguard, High Availability and Backup/Recovery
  • Deep knowledge in implementation and maintaining the iAS and WebLogic Server required to run Oracle eBusiness Suite.
  • Expertise in performance tuning of Database and the related technology tools such Workflow, JVM and Concurrent Manager processes.  
  • Knowledge of Shell Scripting, PL/SQL and other related languages
  • Demonstrable history solving complex problems across multiple modules
  • Experience in implementation, upgrade and supporting the Multi Lingual EBS environments


  • Superb trouble-shooting skills and tenacity in problem solving

  • Passionate focus on customer support and the ability to build long term, successful working relationships with Clients

  • Strong knowledge of related technologies required to effectively support the complex and large EBS deployments.

  • Deep knowledge of Oracle EBS customization/extension methodologies

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills – verbal & written

  • Extreme focus on Client satisfaction and attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly

  • Ability to work calmly and professionally in high pressure situations

  • Ability to work remotely from a home based office in a virtual environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Good Experience in Operating System Administration
  • Experience in administration of SOA and other middleware environments
  • A consulting background, while not mandatory, would be useful
