Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Security Operations Center (SOC) the Security Analyst, SOC will perform operational security administration and analysis of security related incidents, vulnerabilities and events that may affect Rimini Street and its clients.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administering, monitoring, and analyzing related applications/tools in support of security operations for example Firemon and Splunk
  • Prioritizing and differentiating between potential intrusion attempts and false alarms
  • Composing security alert notifications and other communications
  • Staying up to date with current vulnerabilities, attacks, and countermeasures
  • Participates in the investigation and reporting of data security events and incidents
  • Maintains security incident response plans
  • Support the development of procedures and performance metrics reports
  • Identify global disasters/events as early as possible, determine severity and notify management when deemed necessary
  • Generate and distribute professional reports, including follow-up status reports that can be shared with management and internal clients
  • Research best practices around new writing and reporting methods, processes, and tools
  • Maintain and further build-out automation for early notification and tracking of events
  • Partner with subject matter experts to understand vulnerabilities and corresponding documentation requirements
  • Supports the operational administration of the organization’s global physical security needs including:
    • Administration of access control and associated access control cards
    • Administration of CCTV

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

Education

  • Undergraduate degree

 

Experience

  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Previous experience on a Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT), Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), Computer Security Incident Response Center (CSIRC) or a Security Operations Center (SOC)
  • Experience with Anti-Virus, Intrusion Detection Systems, Firewalls, Active Directory, Vulnerability
  • Assessment tools and other security tools found in large network environments; along with experience working with Security Information and Event Management (SEIM) solutions
  • Familiarity with various network and host-based security applications and tools, such as network and host assessment/scanning tools, network and host based intrusion detection systems, and other security software packages
  • Experience with Log Event Monitoring solutions is strongly desired but not required
  • Crisis management identification and reporting
  • Physical security administration to include access control systems and CCTV
  • Able to support on call / shift / weekend work as per Operations rota
