    Position Summary


     


     


     


    Rimini Street has an exciting opportunity for experienced, hands-on, results driven Director, Global Revenue to join our Finance organization, reporting to the Sr. Director of Global Revenue. In this position, you will be required to have a strong background and understanding of US GAAP accounting principles, in depth knowledge or revenue recognition guidance including ASC-605 and ASC-606. You will be joining a team of experienced, motivated, creative, self-sufficient and high energy performers who are responsible for global revenue recognition and accounting, the adoption of ASC-606 and implementation of RevPro This position will build strong partnerships with sales, sales operations, legal and cross functional finance teams including FPA, GL and operations.


     


     


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities


     



    • Responsible for Rimini Streets worldwide monthly revenue accounting and reporting in accordance with US GAAP and corporate policies

    • Manage and lead the month-end close process, which includes reviewing journal entries, revenue accruals, account reconciliations and preparing fluctuation analysis

    • Directly manage two Revenue accountants responsible for the review, documentation, accounting and reporting for all of Rimini Street’s new and renewal business

    • Provide revenue recognition guidance based on authoritative literature and company policies

    • Assist in the adoption and implementation of ASC-606, working closely with our external third parties and internal resources

    • Work with external and internal auditors to provide the required support for the quarterly reviews and annual audit

    • Foster proactive working relationships with cross-functional organizations including AR, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Corporate Finance, FP&A, IT, Legal and Cost Accounting

    • Identify opportunities to improve, automate and streamline and implement business process improvements for the revenue accounting operations

    • Support the revenue team in developing best practices in go forward accounting systems, processes and procedures

    • Work cross functionally to support the accounting team in special projects and initiatives

    • Assist in the development and support of Standalone Selling Price (SSP)

    • Stay current on revenue recognition guidance and make interpretations of guidance with respect to company revenues

    • Prepare technical accounting memos that analyze and conclude on revenue issues on large customer contracts as required


     


    Additional Duties and responsibilities


     



    • Responsible for the worldwide revenue accounting for all new and renewal transactions monthly, including timely review and sign off

    • Lead role in monthly revenue close

    • Ensure the accurate and timely reporting of revenue according to US GAAP and company policies

    • Documenting and accounting for new and renewal business in accordance with ASC-605 and company policy

    • Driving the technical application of revenue recognition authoritative literature and accounting guidance including advising on deal structure, accounting consequences and outcomes

    • Ensuring timely documentation of key revenue recognition issues

    • Serving as liaison with external auditors on accounting and reporting matters related to revenue recognition

    • Working in a cross-functional manner with Controllership, FP&A, Sales and Sales Operations, Legal and Shared Services to ensure the integrity of financial information, resolve accounting issues and provide financial/accounting advice

    • Ensure global revenue accounting policies and procedures are communicated, implemented, and applied consistently globally

    • Oversee revenue reporting including internal and external financial and management reporting

    Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent; CPA strongly desired 


     



    Experience
      


     



    • Combination of 10+ years’ experience in Big 4 public accounting (or regional firm with SEC clients) and a publicly traded company

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance

    • Licensed CPA strongly desired

    • Strong understanding of US GAAP and exposure to complex revenue recognition transactions is necessary.

    • Proficient at writing technical accounting memos

    • Good judgment, problem identification and problem solving ability

    • Public Accounting experience auditing technology companies and/or ASC 606 strongly desired

    • Experience in ASC 985-605, ASC 605-25, ASC 606, ASU 2009-13 and ASU 2009-14 


      


    Skills 


     



    • Self-starter that works independently with minimal direction

    • In depth knowledge of US GAAP, technology revenue accounting and reporting

    • Experience and knowledge of revenue accounting related to multiple-element arrangements) and accounting for customer discounts under ASC 606

    • Team player and solid communicator (written and verbal skills).

    • Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills

    • Strong system and excel skills. Experience with Microsoft AX a plus

    • Direct management experience

    • Experience managing global revenue process and involvement in Order to Cash cycle

    • Experience developing and building teams

    • Experience driving and implementing continuous improvements

    • Strong ERP, revenue management and reporting system skills

    • Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced environment

    • Self-motivated with the ability to identify problems and provide solutions

    • Ability to partner with and influence personnel around the world and cross functionally

    • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
