    We actively seek a Payroll Specialist, CONTRACTOR resident in our Pleasanton, California office for a three to six month contract.  Our Payroll Specialist must be an expert with ADP Workforce now (WFN).

    Position Summary


    The Payroll Specialist reports to the Manager, Global Payroll and is responsible oversight and coordination of payroll and related activities, ensuring staff is paid accurately, timely and according to labor statutes.  This includes processing, monitoring payments and preparing payroll for US employees.  Payments to employees and vendors will be expected in an efficient, timely manner.  This position will also serve as the support for international payroll vendors and process. The right candidate is a motivated, self-starter with multiple years of hands-on experience processing payroll, understands relevant tax laws and is looking to grow in their career as part of a rapidly growing company.


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Using ADP WFN, perform day to day processing of payroll transactions to ensure that finances and records are maintained in an accurate, timely manner.
    • Process all US payroll
    • Manage all US payroll and related activities on a semi-monthly basis, including PTO tracking, overtime, commissions, ensuring the accurate coding of all wages and non-wage hours
    • Audit and verify output of payroll runs, confirming all appropriate deductions and adjustments were applied correctly
    • Respond to employee and staff inquiries; research, analyze and resolve payroll issues
    • Review and audit payroll reports and timesheets
    • Prepare month end journal entries
    • Assist in payroll audits
    • Audit and process salary changes, commissions, bonus payments
    • Provide administrative and audit support for international payroll preparation
    • Maintain accurate payroll records
    • Data entry of various payroll transactions including new hires, terms, garnishments, special stipends, LOA’s
    • Manage all employee payroll deductions including benefits and 401K
    • Maintain PTO accruals
    • Maintain Hourly Time Card processes
    • Prepare manual checks as needed


    Additional Duties & Responsibilities


    • Prepare weekly reports and special reports as required
    • Assist in special project as assigned by management
    • Other duties as assigned


    Minimal Qualifications



    • Bachelor's Degree or related payroll processing



    • 4-6 years’ experience processing multi-state payroll, utilizing ADP platform required
    • ADP payroll processing experience
    • ADP Work Force Now



    • Have a solid understanding of state and federal tax regulations and compliance
    • Working knowledge of payroll best practices
    • Strong knowledge of Payroll processing
    • Solid understanding of payroll tax laws
    • Able to maintain confidential information
    • Strong computer skills including advanced proficiency in Excel
    • Clear written and verbal communications
    • Good Time Management Skills
    • Work well in a team environment
    • Detail Oriented
