    Right now, we're hiring a French-qualified Legal Counsel to join the Legal department’s global Transactions team, based in either France, UK, Germany, Sweden, or Netherlands

     

    Position Summary 

     

    This role will have primary responsibility for negotiating a wide variety of the company’s commercial transactions, including client services agreements, vendor agreements, and other significant commercial transactions.  You'll focus primarily on EMEA transactions, particularly French transactions, but will have opportunities to work more broadly on a global scale outside of EMEA as needs and capabilities allow.  You'll also ensure that the company’s commercial transactions receive appropriate review by the Legal department and other departments as necessary (e.g., Finance, Compliance, Service Delivery, etc.), are compliant with company’s policies and risk tolerances, and reflect the best practices of in-house commercial transactions legal teams.

     

    There will be requirements for other legal services and advice as needed based on Rimini Street’s diverse and evolving needs. 

     

    This role reports into the GVP and Associate General Counsel, Transactions but functionally reports day-to-day to the Director and Managing Counsel, EMEA.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Draft, review, negotiate and close a wide variety of commercial contracts with the company’s clients, suppliers, strategic partners and vendors
    • Work closely with business partners in Sales, Marketing, IT, Service Delivery and other organizations within Rimini Street to successfully close transactions in a manner consistent with company’s policies and best interests
    • Use business acumen and contractual expertise to guide business sponsors on important considerations and decisions relating to the business and legal requirements of the contract
    • Contribute to ongoing process improvement
    • Provide other legal services and advice to the company as needed

    Qualifications/Skills/Experience

    Location

    • France, UK, Sweden, Germany, Netherlands

    Education

    • Graduate of an accredited law school and currently licensed to practice law in France and at least 1 other European country.

    Experience, Skills and Desired Attributes

    • At least 4 years of relevant experience as a commercial transactions attorney in private practice, in-house, or preferably a mix of both
    • Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position, as described above and as modified from time to time based on Rimini Street’s diverse and evolving needs
    • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
    • Fluency in French and English, oral and written
    • Excellent judgment and sound decision-making
    • Ability to interface professionally and effectively with all levels of personnel internally and externally, up to and including senior executives and other key personnel
    • Ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively as a team player
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities with a “can do” attitude and collegial, collaborative tone
    • Proactive, organized, self-motivated and self-disciplined work ethic, with the ability to re-prioritize in “real time” when faced with competing pressures and demands on time
    • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, emerging tech company environment
    • Experience supporting an internal sales organization strongly preferred
    • Experience working for a (US) tech company preferred
    • Experience handling intellectual property and professional technology issues preferred
    • Outgoing and confident personality, friendly demeanor, positive attitude and great sense of humor
